Welcome to E-Borough Insight

Welcome to April's edition of E-Borough Insight, your newsletter from Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.

In this edition you can learn more about how you can have your say on our Health & Wellbeing Strategy, our public consultation will be open for residents to feedback their comments on the proposal from Friday 4 April at 9am until Friday 16 May at 5pm.

You can also read the latest update from our Environment Committee, who recently officially noted progress made in the delivery of the council’s first Climate Change Action Plan 2020-2024. The committee reviewed an annual update and a five-year overview that included figures for 2023/24 that showed the council had reduced its own operational emissions by 16% since 2019/20.

If you have any questions about the changes to Local Government in Surrey, you might be interested in attending a resident engagement meeting on Monday 28 April. Read on to learn more about this meeting with Councillor Hannah Dalton where she'll elaborate on the current plans for local government reorganisation.

Another key date for the diary is Thursday 8 May, which is VE Day. In this issue we'll share details on the commemorative events which are planned to be held across the borough to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

If you're looking for things to do over the school holidays, you might be interested to read more information on the upcoming free morning tennis sessions to be held in all council-owned tennis courts across the borough this summer, between 22 July and 29 August 2025.

Happy reading!
