Borough Insight

Welcome to E-Borough Insight

Hello,

Welcome to the November edition of E-Borough Insight, your email newsletter from Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.

This month, we remembered the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from United Kingdom and the Commonwealth by holding a series of memorial events and activities.

These included the opening of the Garden of Remembrance at Bourne Hall, Councillors joining a formal procession and laying wreaths at the Monument in the Churchyard on Remembrance Sunday, and commemorating Armistice Day in Epsom Market Place. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Update on the borough's Proposed Submission Local Plan and funding decisions for local community projects

Last week, Epsom & Ewell Borough Council’s Licensing & Planning Policy Committee debated the Proposed Submission Local Plan and made their recommendation to Full Council, which will take place on 10 December.

This month also saw Community Infrastructure Levy funding approved for 9 community projects across the borough.

Christmas is fast approaching

The Mayor of Epsom & Ewell, along with the cast of Cinderella, helped kick off the festive season 'flicking the switch' at the Christmas Lights Switch On in Epsom Market Place, hope you managed to join us! We would encourage you to join any of the variety of festive activities and events taking place around the borough, including at Epsom Playhouse and Bourne Hall, where you can see the Christmas Lights Switch On this Saturday, 30 November from 4pm.

Within this issue, we have also published information about Council services over the festive period on our website: Council services over the Christmas period | Epsom and Ewell Borough Council
