Welcome to E-Borough Insight

Hello,

Welcome to the August edition of E-Borough Insight, your email newsletter from Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.

This month we're proud to announce new initiatives including a fantastic new mural in a neglected part of Epsom Town Centre, and our work with charities in Epsom & Ewell to distribute the Household Support Fund to residents who are experiencing financial hardship. Read more about the mural here and find out about the Household Support Fund on our website: Epsom & Ewell Borough Council works with local charities to offer financial support to residents who need it most | Epsom and Ewell Borough Council (epsom-ewell.gov.uk)

We were shocked and dismayed by the events earlier in the month following the tragedy that took place in Southport. Please do take a look at this Statement from Epsom & Ewell Borough Council leaders following recent events

We stand with our community against anyone who threatens to disrupt our peace, safety and community cohesion.

In September, we are hosting a Walk & Talk event on Epsom Downs on 10th September to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day. The event supports our Suicide Prevention Action Plan and aims to raise awareness of support and resources available to help those suffering from mental health issues, or to anyone who is impacted by the loss of someone to suicide. Read more about this event in our news section and please do register to come along if this is a topic that resonates with you. Email Walkandtalk@epsom-ewell.gov.uk if you have any questions.

We have also included a piece this month about the impact of homelessness. It is a longer read than usual but it's an issue that is incredibly important for us in Epsom & Ewell.

Thank you for your support and please do keep up-to-date with our work, and let us know what you think: follow us on social media, on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor and X @EpsomEwellBC
