Visit this talk at Bourne Hall to learn more about The Iron Age, which lasted from 800 BC to the Roman invasion. The use of iron changed the life of folk with other advances like the potter’s wheel, the lathe for woodworking, and the rotary quern for grinding grain.

Schubert: Mass No.2 in G major
As part of the Saturday afternoon Music @ St Martin’s series is a performance of Schubert’s charming miss brevis by some of the talented musicians from Epsom College. The 18 year old Schubert was as young as some of the performers when he wrote this setting. Accompanying the College’s Chamber Choir is the String Orchestra along with the fine organ in St Martin’s Church played by the College’s Organ Scholar.

D-Day Beacon Lighting
Epsom will be marking the D-Day anniversary this year by lighting a beacon in commemoration.
Visit Epsom Downs and enjoy fish and chips and entertainment from 7pm, gather at the beacon at 8.45pm, the ceremony will begin at 9pm, at 9.10pm you can listen to the Lone Piper and at 9.15pm the beacon will be lit.
