Bourne Hall events
Cave Painting
Tuesday 24 October, 11am-3pm, £5 per child
In prehistoric times, early men crawled down into the darkest caves and used light from primitive candles to paint pictures of themselves and the animals they hunted. They left behind a vivid record of their way of life and some clues of what they believed in. Discover how and why these paintings were created. Then by flickering light try to create your own cave painting in our very own ‘caves’.
A walk around the dark side of Epsom's history
Sunday 29 October, 5pm to 6.30pm and 7.30pm to 9pm
£5 per person per walk.
A walk around the dark side of Epsom’s history and discover a WW1 ghost nurse, haunted pubs, the matchstick ghost and perhaps Epsom’s most unlucky house. Ghosts of Neil Gwyn and Stg Green and the lady in the church yard. Lord Lyttleton and his tragic end along with a visit to Epsom’s most haunted house.

Tuesday 31 October, 5pm to 6.30pm and 7.30pm to 9pm
£5 per person per walk.
Discover the darker side of Ewell’s history with a guided tour around its historic heart. Visit graveyards and crime scenes, if you dare! Hear tales of local folk who won’t stay dead, ghostly coach crashes and discover the story of Joan Butts, Ewell’s witch. Are you brave enough to dare to tread where the Resurrection Men once stood, while you learn about their grisly trade? Experience for yourself what it was like to be imprisoned in Ewell’s 18th century jail - be careful you don’t get left behind!

Quiz Night in aid of Age Concern in Epsom & Ewell
Friday 3 November 7pm to 10.30pm at The Conservative Club, Epsom
£15 per person
Not a whizz with a quiz? It really doesn't matter. This quiz night promises to be a highly entertaining evening pitched for all to enjoy! There will be slices of pizza, nibbles and a drink tied in with the ticket price too! Please gather your teams of 6 and book in advance or you can book an individual place and you will be included in a team. Please help to spread the word, it's going to be a fun night to raise funds for Age Concern Epsom & Ewell, Charity No: 1139652.
Ashtead Choral Society performs Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini
Saturday 4 November 7.30pm at St Martin's Church, Epsom
Tickets £18 in advance, £20 on the door, £9 under 25s. Tickets include programme.
In this, the great composer’s final work, the music ranges from hushed intensity to boisterous high spirits and abounds with the memorable tunes and rhythmic vitality for which Rossini became justly famous. It is a heart-warming and celebratory piece, bursting with humour, charm and sincerity.
Garden of Remembrance in Bourne Hall
Wednesday 8 November 11.00am-12.00pm
On 8 November at 11am, the Garden of Remembrance in Bourne Hall Park will be opened by the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell and local schoolchildren to honour and remember all those who died in the service of their country. Schools will be performing songs and poems and placing poppy crosses to remember the loss of servicemen and women in all conflicts.
