Local elections - 4 May

We've been busy preparing for the local elections which take place on 4 May. Voting in these elections gives you the opportunity to have your say on local issues that matter to you.

To vote this year in person at a polling station, you will need to bring photo ID. Find out more about Voter ID.

Please don't forget your photo ID - set a reminder for yourself or even put a note on your fridge. If you don't have photo ID with you, you will have to return home to get it before you can vote.

You can use any of the following forms of ID:

  • passport
  • photo driving licence
  • blue badge
  • Older Person's Bus Pass, Disabled Person's Bus Pass, Oyster 60+ Card, Freedom Pass
  • identity card with PASS hologram (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
  • biometric immigration document
  • defence identity card
  • national identity cards issued by an EEA state

You can use expired photo ID, as long as the photo still looks like you. Find out more about Voter ID here.
