Active April Activity - Winner!

This was the best Active April event yet - more people than ever throughout the borough got involved in all sorts of ways and sent us their photographs proudly showing what they had achieved.

Getting moving and getting outdoors as much as possible is great for physical and mental wellbeing, which is why Epsom & Ewell Borough Council challenged residents to get Active this April. The council’s Active April initiative was a great opportunity for residents to make simple adjustments in their daily routine to increase their physical activity. Whatever the circumstances or physical limitations, people found their own ways to be a bit more active.

No need to run marathons - there are simple things we can all do to move more - whether that’s going for a walk with the family, taking the stairs rather than the lift, walking a bit further to get to work or school or even trying out the outdoor gym equipment installed around the borough, and there are lots of opportunities for physical and recreation activities with lots of parks, open spaces, and sports facilities all on our doorstep.

From all the photos and stories sent in, the lucky random draw winner of a £50 voucher was Jo-Anne, pictured below - enjoying the outdoor gym.
