Warren Farm Meadow Day
Saturday 1 June between 10:00 and 15:00
Warren Farm, next to Nonsuch Park in Cheam, Surrey.
Help Warren Farm to flourish this summer! Want to enjoy nature and meet new people? Want to try something fun as a family? Perhaps you want to learn something new whilst getting a decent workout? Take in the fresh air and experience all that Warren Farm has to offer at the annual Meadow Day, a fun family event on for all to get involved to help save an important meadow habitat for years to come.
There is nothing like the beauty of a meadow in bloom and if you have visited Warren Farm in summer, you will know it is no exception. But, did you know that the bright yellow flowers that you see are actually harmful to our native wildflowers and a range of butterflies that depend on them? The site has been invaded by Canadian Goldenrod. It is best removed by hand and volunteers are vital in tackling the problem. It’s great exercise and we are seeking more amazing people to help us transform the whole space into a haven for wildlife by helping pull it out of the ground

Where there's HOPE
A golden gem
Epsom Chamber Choir are busy rehearsing a major concert to mark their 50th anniversary and warmly invite music lovers to help them celebrate in style.
The concert, which takes place on Saturday 29 June, comprises Gems of the English Baroque, with Handel’s splendid ‘Dixit Dominus’ taking centre stage.
Also included are excerpts from Handel’s oratorio ‘Solomon’ and works from Purcell, one of which has been given an intriguing contemporary twist.
The choir and its conductor Mark Biggins will be joined by impressive young soloists and an instrumental ensemble, adding extra excitement to this celebration. Past members of the choir have also been invited to join in what promises to be an exceptionally rousing performance of ‘Zadok the Priest’.
Members of the audience will be invited to join choir members for a reception at the end of the evening.
Chairman Nic Ash comments: “What started out fifty years ago as a few enthusiastic singers getting together to have fun, has developed into one of Surrey’s leading chamber choirs. We work hard to achieve an exceptionally high level of performance across an adventurous range of music – but with no less enthusiasm or fun!”
The concert will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday 29 June at St Martin’s Church in Epsom.
Tickets are £16 in advance or £18 on the door (free for under 18s). Advance tickets can be purchased from choir members, on the website www.epsomchamberchoir.org.uk, by calling 020 8672 5497 or by texting 07940 486163.
