Borough Insight

Welcome to this month’s e-Borough Insight

A special welcome to our new readers from Energize. Energize is the news produced by the Council to promote sporting activity in the Borough and the monthly Energize bulletin has now been incorporated into this newsletter.

Hot on the great news earlier this year about the award of Green flags for a number of our parks, we have had some fantastic news about Nonsuch Park this month from Britain in Bloom. It's also your chance to vote for the nation's top ten favourite parks for this year's People's Choice Award - items on both these are in the news section.

Within the last week, there has been another accident at the junction of the Spread Eagle in Epsom town centre. This junction is reputedly the most dangerous in Surrey and there is welcome news in this issue that the highway improvements, which include increased safety measures at the junction, are to get underway.

On a lighter note, many older residents will recall Norman Wisdom as a resident of this Borough. Now an exhibition of his life is coming to Bourne Hall, it’s a bit of a coup for the museum as it’s the first time it’s been seen in the South of England.
