Rotary Club Stall at Epsom Market 2 July

Epsom Rotary Club will be holding a stall at Epsom Marketplace on Saturday, 2 July 2022 and welcome anyone to come and visit to learn more about Epsom Rotary and ways that they could get involved.

Each year, The Rotary Club of Epsom is involved in a range of local community events. The club organises the annual Epsom and Ewell Borough Family Fun Day with the Rotary Club of Ewell. There are gardening sessions at Old Moat Garden Centre and they have created and now maintain, the Community Allotment together with Ewell Rotary.

The club also runs the local Young Musician, Young Photographer, Young Chef and French Speaking competitions annually. They helped with marshalling the Cancer Research UK Race for Life event at Epsom Downs Racecourse this year and also run annual Christmas collections around Epsom.

The club has a varied social calendar with recent events including sporting events and nights out at local restaurants, as well as the regular meetings. Being part of a large, international organisation they also have the opportunity to compete against other local Rotary clubs in the district sports competitions.

This year they are fundraising for local charities and charity events have included The Epsom and Ewell Showcase and quiz nights and of course much more.

They welcome new members to increase their good community work.

Spanish season at The Horton

There is a lot going on at The Horton over the summer; just a flavour for you below......

The Horton Epsom is delighted to announce a season of Spanish work, taking place at the new arts centre this July.

A series of classical music and dance concerts pay tribute to the tragic Spanish dance prodigy Felix Garcia, who was secretly banished to Horton Asylum in 1919, following a clash with the Russian Ballet.

The concerts will be performed by celebrated artists from Spain on an international tour, with The Horton Epsom hosting the only UK dates.

The programme for two concerts Spanish Serenade and Spanish Symphony includes music by Albéniz, Giménez, Bizet and de Falla and other European composers inspired by Spain such as Ravel, performed on piano, violin and voice. Award-winning dancers and choreographers will be performing in the round, with Cristina Cazorla and Francisco Serrano also sharing their extensive Flamenco and Boléro dance knowledge in two special masterclasses.

Tickets for their wide range of events are on sale now

The Horton is the winner of the Surrey Heritage Awards 2022.
