Coronavirus (COVID-19): what you need to do:

Stay Alert

We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:

  • stay at home as much as possible
  • work from home if you can
  • limit contact with other people
  • keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
  • wash your hands regularly

Do not leave home if you or anyone in your household has symptoms. Read more about what you can and cannot do

Changes to lockdown

  • You can now meet one other person outdoors who isn't a member of your household – you can travel by car to meet up with them, but social distancing of two metres apart still applies
  • You can exercise outside for as long as you like
  • You can now use outdoor sports courts or facilities, such as a tennis or basketball court, or a golf course – with members of your household, or one other person who isn't part of your household, while staying two metres apart.
  • Garden centres are now open
  • If you are over 70 the advice is you should still minimise contact with others outside your household
  • Before you travel on public transport, consider if your journey is necessary and if you can, stay local. Can you walk or cycle to where you need to get to? Or stay at home?
