Borough Insight

In this issue

The start of March saw the meteorological start of spring, and the start of the season means it’s time for the annual Herald of Spring at Bourne Hall! This free family event takes place this Saturday, details within this issue.

Sticking with the good news vibe, we include a report on the borough’s recent young champion’s awards, some excellent news from Epsom Playhouse and information about an initiative we have launched with Job Centre Plus.

The Coronavirus situation is developing rapidly and in this issue we look at the latest information and advice. We understand residents and visitors may have concerns about COVID-19; we are monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with Public Health England and a Surrey-wide public sector network, comprising councils, the NHS and emergency services. We would like to reassure you that the government and NHS are well prepared to deal with this virus.

Within the last month, your elected representatives on the borough council set our budget for the year, which includes council tax for the year ahead; we include a report in the news section. If you belong to a community group we also include information in the Key Facts section on how you can bid for funds for infrastructure projects within the borough.

We hope you find this issue informative. Later this month the paper issue of Borough Insight hits the streets where we look at a number of stories in greater detail.

Enjoy your spring!
