Nominations open for Volunteer Awards

Central Surrey Voluntary Action in partnership with Epsom and Ewell Borough Council wishes to recognise the valuable contributions that volunteers make to the lives of the people within the borough. The Volunteer Awards are an excellent opportunity to thank volunteers for their valuable and tireless efforts. Volunteers’ contributions make a real difference to the work and activities of local voluntary and community groups and individuals.

The Epsom and Ewell Awards 2019 will be presented by the Mayor, Councillor John Becket, during a ceremony at the Epsom Town Hall on November 13 at 7pm.

Organisations are invited to nominate two volunteers for the awards. Whose service in your organisation is worthy of such recognition.  However, in exceptional circumstances, consideration will be given to a further nominee.

Your nominee’s services must be of benefit to the residents of the borough of Epsom and Ewell. Although nominated volunteers must have given service within the boundaries of the borough, they do not have to live in the area.

The Awards recognise either:

1. Voluntary service with an organisation of 1 year or more.

2. Individual involvement as part of a project that has made a real difference e.g. designing a website, fundraising, outstanding support to an individual and/or organisation.

3. Special Aspire Award for Aspire Volunteers. This award will be jointly given to both the organisation and the volunteer. It will be awarded to organisations that have shown diversity and inclusiveness in their recruitment of volunteers. The volunteer within this organisation will be someone who has faced challenges accessing volunteering and is valued within the organisation.
