Get prepared for Autumn

SurreyPrepared_AutumnAn autumnal walk is hard to beat, especially in beautiful Surrey, but it can also bring some challenges. Here are some simple ideas to help be more #SurreyPrepared for the changing season: 

Staying well

  • Before the cold sets in refresh the contents of your medicine cabinet – remembering to check the expiry date. Never throw old medicine in the bin, take it to a pharmacy for safe disposal.
  • Download the free apps from @British Red Cross. The Emergency App will send you alerts such as severe weather warnings to your phone, you can even add more than one postcode. The First Aid apps work offline and ensure you have always have expert guidance if it is needed.

Driving and travel

  • Consider downloading the free @what3words app. It can help the emergency services identify your location to within metres, even in the most rural locations and has already helped save lives in the UK. 
  • Do you have jump leads, a working torch and warning triangles in your car? These could all prove invaluable if you were to break down.
