Summer has not panned out exactly as anticipated, so we’ve parked all our messages about sunburn, barbeques, dehydration and enjoying long lazy sun filled days and instead we’ve included a feature on the assistance you can receive to keep your home warm this winter!
However don’t despair, we’re still going to have a few nice days. You can take it on good authority that the weather is going to be perfect for Round the Borough Hike, our easy going, marshalled 20 mile walk encompassing all of the best green spaces in and around Epsom and Ewell.
And on the subject of days out, we’re also highlighting two fantastic events being laid on by local community groups, the Ewell Court House Open Day (which includes picnic in the park) and the Rotary Clubs’ Community Fayre in Hook Road Arena.
Over the next few months we’re going to be asking you to help formulate our Local Plan, an important piece of work that will shape the borough for the next few decades and beyond – we explain what the Local Plan is in the Spotlight section.
This issue’s Key Facts looks at that pesky letter you receive from us around this time every year. While it’s not exactly a ray of sunshine, we explain why we send it (and what you should do about it).
No matter what natural forces are thrown our way over the next few weeks, we hope you can embrace the weather and enjoy the end of the great British summer (oh, and keep an eye out for weather warnings via our twitter feed)!
