Special screening of War Horse

To commemorate the centenary of the end the first world war, the SSAFA team in Surrey are hosting a special evening on Saturday 1 September in the magnificent grounds of Gordon’s School, near Woking.

War horseSSAFA, the Armed Forces charity was the only British military charity in existence at the outbreak of the WW1 and it helped thousands of families while their men were away fighting at the front. SSAFA Surrey will remember those who served a hundred years ago, and those who supported them, during this special evening. The proceeds from this event will go towards SSAFA's work supporting the current generation of servicemen and women, veterans and families in Surrey who still need our help.

The highlight of the evening will be an open-air screening of the critically acclaimed film War Horse, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Michael Morpurgo’s book.

So, come and join us with your family and friends. Bar and refreshment facilities will be available and, of course, you are welcome to bring along picnics.
