Epsom Common Day

2018 marks the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the Epsom well which led to Epsom becoming a spa town visited by Charles II.

To celebrate, join in for Epsom Common Day 2018, a community open day, on 29 July on Stamford Green between 11am-4pm.EpsomCommonDay

This will be a fun-packed family day with something for all ages!

The Common covers 436 acres, is Surrey’s largest local nature reserve and has two mediaeval fish ponds.

Epsom Common Association supports the long term preservation and protection of Epsom Common, a local nature reserve and site of special scientific interest. They work in partnership with us, the Lower Mole Partnership and Natural England. The ECoVols (Volunteer group of Epsom Common Association) carry out conservation tasks on the Common throughout the year.

The Common Day will have stalls demonstrating the way that the Common is maintained, falconry displays, a mobile farm, Epsom & Ewell Silver Band, Epsom Hospital Radio, a Riding for the Disabled demonstration, BBQ (at the Cricketers PH from 12pm), beers from ‘Fuzzchats’ (a micro-brewery associated with the Jolly Coopers PH), history and nature walks, children’s activities at Christ Church with refreshments all day, fantastic raffle prizes and much, much more!

The day has been made possible through generous donations from individuals and companies when the event was announced, and successfully crowd-funded, back in April with a local company CoProCo.

The event is free to all, however due to restricted parking the organisers would ask that you come on foot or public transport if possible.
