This glorious weather is showing no signs of leaving us any time soon and is just perfect for a barbeque and a nice cold beer! With temperatures similar to Barbados and Morocco, in our key facts section we look at ways of keeping safe and well during the blistering heat that’s currently sweeping the nation.
We're celebrating! Not only have the borough's green spaces retained their green flag, the mark of excellence, the borough's youngsters did us proud at the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games.
One of the green flags (they are physical flags) will be raised on Epsom Common (which has won the award for the twelfth consecutive year). This Sunday is Epsom Common Day on Stamford Green, a free event put on by the community for the community. Details in the events section.
And talking of youngsters, we've come up with some ideas of what to do with the little darlings this summer in the spotlight section.
Finally, we're asking for your help. While we run hundreds of different services for the community (from abandoned vehicle removal to issuing zoo licences), we know for most of you, the only interaction you have with us is when we take your rubbish. Last year we fundamentally changed the service and we're now asking for feedback.
