Evening parking just got easier and cheaper!

At the end of last month, the Council lowered evening parking charges and made it a little bit easier.

Parking charges at the Ashley Centre, Town Hall, Hope Lodge, Depot Road and Upper High Street car parks have been reduced for customers using the car parks later in the afternoon.  Maximum charges will replace the evening charge which used to apply after 6.30pm.

So if you are making the most of the new late night shopping on a Thursday at the Ashley Centre and fancy a bite to eat, relax; if you arrive after 4pm the maximaum it will cost you is £1.50 in one of the Council car parks.

The new tariffs were introduced following consultation with local businesses and will support the new later shopping hours introduced at the Ashley Centre, as well as benefitting visitors to the town using the restaurants, pubs, cinema and the Epsom Playhouse.

Following feedback from commutors, there has also been a change to the opening hours for Hook Road car park which are now extended to 6am to 11pm Monday to Friday.

Parking charges are a major source of revenue for the Council and enable non-statutory services to continue to be provided by the Council to the more vulnerable in our community as government grants decrease.
