Dementia Friendly Surrey offers FREE dementia training for businesses

For staff and volunteers in public facing roles, having a basic understanding of the impact of dementia and how to support people can make a huge difference.

Dementia currently affects one in thirteen older people in Surrey and some 800,000 people across the UK. This is expected to increase by 25% by 2020 in Surrey alone.

Dementia Friendly Surrey can offer staff within your organisation, FREE basic dementia awareness training in a variety of ways to suit your needs. We can offer a self-study pack, a short three-hour course for ten or more people or you can book onto one of our upcoming cross-community courses which will enable participants to go back and cascade their learning to colleagues within their organisation.

The following course has places available:
Epsom & Ewell: Thursday 16 October 2014, 9.30am-4.30pm at Longmead Social Centre, Sefton Road, Epsom, KT19 9HG

We would be happy to work with you to find a training method that suits you.

For a booking form or to discuss your training needs: email dementia.friendly@surreycc.gov.uk or call 01483 519006.

Visit the www.dementiafriendlysurrey.org.uk to view information about how to set up short courses and download the self-study pack.
