Spring is on its way! The spring flowers are coming out, with aconites, crocus and hellebores all in bloom and have you seen this year’s display of snowdrops along Chalk Lane? On a warm day (we did have a couple before the cold weather came back) there is the sound of bees working the early flowers. Spring is definitely not far away which can only mean it time for the borough’s annual celebration of flowers, Herald of Spring – details in the Spotlight section.

We’ve had a busy month. Work is underway on the pond in Rosebery Park, we had the by-election in Ruxley and your elected representatives set our budget for the year, including agreeing the council tax rate for the forthcoming financial year. Details on all these in this issue.

As featured last month, 2018 has some special anniversaries and we’re still asking for details of any community activities you and your communities are planning to mark the end of WW1 centenary commemoration – for details type WW1 into the search box above and last month’s article will appear.
