With an urgent requirement to seek new ways to finance council services, we are thinking about investing in the company that supplies pencils on bits of string – the number we are getting through at the moment, with another election imminent, we are on to a sure thing!

If the latest political shenanigans is enough to make you scream, how about getting into the fresh air with some gentle activity? In the Spotlight section we look at the mental and physical benefits of allotments. Our allotments are usually fully taken up but we currently have plots available.

We also have the normal roundup of local events and news from across the borough and you don’t have to vote for any of them – maybe the investment plan isn’t such a good idea after al!
