Not just for you, Mr Grimsdale!
Sir Norman Wisdom, actor, comedian and singer-songwriter, was best known for a series of comedy films produced in the 1950’s and 60’s.
As well as being a cult figure in Albania, Sir Norman was also a one-time resident of this borough! Older residents recall standing behind him in the queue in his favourite fish and chip shop in Ewell or seeing him shopping in Epsom.
Bourne Hall Museum has secured the loan of the official exhibition of his life and work from his family. This is the first time the collection will be seen in the South of England. The exhibition contains theatre posters, handwritten scripts, film stills, props and costumes.
Among the exhibits are Sir Norman’s 1954 British Film Academy Award.
This extensive exhibition will run at Bourne Hall Museum, Spring Street, Ewell from 4 October to the New Year.
