Welcome to the September edition of E-Borough Insight, your monthly newsletter from Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, bringing you the latest news, updates and opportunities from across the borough.

As we look ahead to a landmark year for our community, we're inviting residents to help celebrate Epsom & Ewell's 90th anniversary by sharing photographs, memories and stories from the past nine decades. Your contributions will help create a lasting record of local life as we prepare to mark this milestone and the transition to East Surrey Council. If you'd like to take part, email your memories to ninety@epsom-ewell.gov.uk.

This month, we also have an update on the borough's Local Plan, including the next stage in the examination process and the proposed public consultation on the Planning Inspector's main modifications, subject to approval by full Council. We reflect on our Messages of Hope campaign, which brought residents together to share words of encouragement and support for World Suicide Prevention Day.

In addition, we're delighted to announce the return of our Young Legends programme, offering free sports and creative activities for local children aged 9 to 11. We're also highlighting a new bursary scheme designed to help Ukrainian families gain new skills, access training opportunities and strengthen community connections.
