Bourne Hall Museum Takes Part in Kids in Museums 'Takeover Day' with Ewell Grove Primary and Nursery School

In November, Ewell Grove Primary and Nursery School took part in the Kids in Museums Takeover Day event at Bourne Hall Museum. This project sits within our Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy which aims to increase access to art, culture and heritage within the borough, as well as nurturing local, creative talent. Students from Ewell Grove took part in activities, which gave them an insight into what it would be like to work in a museum. The children had a fantastic time learning about curation and designing promotional posters for the museum. 

Full funding secured for Ewell Village improvements

Last month, Epsom & Ewell Borough Council's Strategy and Resources Committee approved funding for community infrastructure projects. One of the projects agreed was for Ewell Village improvements. Councillors agreed the contribution of £1.25m Community Infrastructure Levy funding for this project which will match the £1.35m that Surrey County Council has committed.

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council plants heritage trees as part of its Biodiversity Action Plan

On 9 and 27 November, our Countryside team, with the help of the Friends of Horton Country Park and volunteers, planted a total of eight heritage trees in Lambert’s Orchard in Horton Country Park Local Nature Reserve.

Epsom & Ewell Proposed Submission Local Plan (Regulation 19) Consultation is now live.

On Tuesday 10 December Councillors voted to approve the Epsom & Ewell Proposed Submission Local Plan (2022-2040). The Regulation 19 Consultation is the final opportunity to feedback on the plan before it is submitted to the Government for inspection by a Planning Inspector. 

It's not long until the big day!

During November, we enjoyed some brilliant Christmas light Switch On events in both Epsom Marketplace and at Bourne Hall in Ewell. There are still many festive events to enjoy across the borough, Santa will be in the grotto at Bourne Hall tomorrow and you can post a letter to him until Christmas eve.

Epsom Playhouse also has a whole host of shows available to book. including their much-anticipated pantomime, Cinderella!
