Stop press! Nonsuch park wins!
Just as we were about to push the button to send this issue out we have found out that Nonsuch Park has been awarded Silver Gilt in both the Heritage Park and Large Park categories at the South & South East in Bloom 2017.
This is a fantastic achievement particularly in the heritage category as the other Silver Gilt awards were given to 'pay to enter' gardens and/or parks which have received significant lottery investment.
The award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and volunteer groups:
- Nonsuch Voles who look after the woodland and gardens,
- The Friends of Nonsuch who look after the museum and help restore historical features in the gardens
- Nonsuch Watch, who contribute towards supporting the rich biodiversity of the park.
Nonsuch Park is managed jointly with the London Borough of Sutton with this council responsible for the day-to-day running of the park.
South & South East in Bloom is part of the Britain in Bloom campaign, where Councils, communities, residents, businesses can work together to improve their environment.
